Here's a little bit about me:

My name is Sarah Padyk, and I study environment and science communication at UNC-Chapel Hill. I grew up in rural Appalachia in Western North Carolina, and I have always had a passion for learning about the world and ecosystems around me. As I began my undergraduate career at UNC, my interests shifted to energy, and I majored in environmental science with a focus on quantitative energy systems and a minor in PR and advertising. I believe that the real value and opportunity for change comes from effectively communicating this knowledge with the public. These beliefs have led me to graduate school at UNC, where I am earning a graduate degree in strategic communication. Outside of my career and studies, I enjoy kayaking, hiking, and I am currently learning how to surf! I hope you enjoy reading the blog as much as I enjoy writing it.
